Ruthless Prioritization

Are you going home drained at the end of the day? So busy at work you barely have time to visit the restroom? Or you go to the restroom to get moments of silence? It’s time for ruthless prioritization.”

The National Academy of Sciences conducted a study about decision making and found a phenomenon known as decision fatigue. When we become tired and drained we are more likely to make poor decisions!
Give yourself a break, be more productive and be a better resource for your organization by avoiding decision fatigue with a technique I call ruthless prioritization.

For each item on your calendar, ask yourself, “What am I getting out of this? What is the return on investment on this activity?” Be ruthless. Be consistent. Be unforgiving. Delegate. Give it up. Let it go. Your time and your wisdom are valuable and you want to conserve it for the things that will bring you the biggest return on investment. There will always be more to do, so be ruthless!

Great job! Now for this to work, keep it up! Use this ruthless prioritization method every day to determine what makes it on to your to do list. Be consistent. Be persistent. Be unforgiving.
