Shattering Status Quo

What makes extraordinary teams? Is it the right leadership? Is it having all A- players? Is it having the right product at the right time? All of these can contribute to creating a high performing team. But what is it that sets apart extraordinary teams, the game-changers, the ones who shatter status quo and disrupt industries? It’s culture.

Culture is often overlooked, often assumed and often not what we think or want it to be. Culture is sometimes neglected by leaders focused on running their business. Culture may be viewed as that elusive idea that is out there, but that nobody really knows how to change.

Overcoming Obstacles

I was stuck There I was lying in bed, recovering from surgery after suffering a fractured heel, unable to put any weight on my foot and in severe pain twenty-four hours a day. I was literally stuck. Interestingly enough, as I lay there I realized the parallel in my work life. I was feeling stuck there too. A career in which I had success, but often found myself feeling like this wasn’t it for me. There had to be something else. Something more.

And then I had complications. And then more complications. As each step in the journey unfolded, it was clear, it wasn’t going to be easy to return to “normal.” It was a roller coaster ride of emotions as I faced setbacks, challenges and obstacles with both my physical healing and my career.
And that’s when I discovered it. My superpowers. The five things I learned while lying in bed, stuck, that changed my life. That moved me out of stuck. That took me out of bed and to singing “Ain’t nothing gonna break my stride!”
Jean will share her story and her “superpowers” that YOU too can put into use in changing your story. Get unstuck.

Becoming Your Best Self

Survive:      As a young girl, I felt that I was created for a special reason.  But as I grew, life came at me with one obstacle after another .   I was in survival mode.

Strive:    I set about creating my life.  I got a job, a good job. I married and started a family.  All this striving was fine. It’s what we’re supposed to do.   I had a good life, a good job, a great family.
Thrive:  And yet, there was this constant nagging, this constant, silent voice. Sometimes just a feeling, that I was meant for more.  That this wasn’t my best self. That while my life was comfortable, there was more out there. There was something else.
